Shilpa Mesineni is a highly regarded electrical and control engineer with 14 years of experience in maritime decarbonization and sustainable shipping technologies. As a Principal Engineer in the Advanced Analysis and Modeling team at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), she specializes in developing and implementing advanced energy efficiency solutions for marine and offshore vessels. Shilpa’s expertise lies in building data-driven and multi-physics modeling frameworks that support vessel energy transition, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with international environmental standards.
Before joining ABS, she held R&D roles at Nabors Industries and Johnson Controls, focusing on automation controls and hardware-in-the-loop validation. Shilpa holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans. She is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Computer Science to further advance her expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications for maritime digitalization.
